For those that hate the friction hinges more like binding hinges as much as i do there is a fix.
The only thing going for it is that you dont need to clip the door when it s in the full open position.
I contacted lippert and they gave me the p n for the standard non binding replacement hinge.
The friction hinge has to go.
Is there a way to adjust the tension on the main door friction hinges.
If you get the right strength strut available from dealer for free and remove your rain cap from the door frame and make an aluminum spacer however thick need be to fill in behind the rain cap and strut mount so you can tighten the screws down with out crushing the rain cap.

The rv hinge seems to be a one size fits all type with no adjustment available for wear the old fashioned latches should be available at any decent trailer dealer.
Our new 2018 cougar has one of the new friction hinge doors and its difficult to open and close.
I will eventually switch the hinge to a non friction hinge and attach a lock to the trailer wall to latch the door open when i want it to stay open.
