Step 2 lock spring tension.
Rv awning release lever stuck.
Release a sticky awning ratchet lever by releasing the awning lever with one hand while pulling down gently on the awning support arm with your other hand.
Pull the support arm to release the ratchet attached to the other end of the lever.
Even when tapped with small hammer.
I have an a e awning with the roll down roll up lever stuck.
Release the travel locks on the awning arms and release the cam lock if it still holds at all.
The lever will answered by a verified rv mechanic.
Then usually you can move the lock to the roll up position.
If this is hard to do it could be the strut.
We had a difficult time replacing them really had to lift hard to get them back in the bracket.
Extend the awning out approximately 1 foot and prop it in place with the board for now.
Then while pulling toward me in a motion to unroll the awning i work the release latch with my right hand as i move the awning roll back and forth with my left hand.
There can be an obstruction in the arms or rust build up on the strut.
Could be a bad strut that is hard to collapse grab the awning while out and try pushing in by hand.
It is tight but i get it to the roll down position by doing that and can pull my awning down.
Lastly it could be the gears in the motor housing.
If you haven t solved the problem try having another person pull the awning strap as far as posible to release the tension on the lock tab.
Step 1 extend awning slightly.

Insert a cotter pin through the inner shaft at the end tube to lock the spring.
The awning will not go up.
Dometic awning is in the out position.
